The Teacup

THE TEACUP

There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.

One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful." As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke.

"You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'Let me alone', but he only smiled, 'Not yet.'

"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. Stop it! I'm getting dizzy! I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'

Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head,
'Not yet.'

Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. 'There, that's better', I said. And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.'

Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening, nodding his head saying, 'Not yet.'

Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and I couldn't believe it was me. ‘It's beautiful. I'm beautiful.'

'I want you to remember, then,' he said, 'I know it hurts to be rolled and patted, but if I had left you alone, you would have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked.

I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened; you would not have had any color in your life. And if I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.

MORAL: God knows what He's doing for all of us. He is the potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, so that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Awww... Sore throat again...

Failed to drink enough water last Sat and although I tried to make up for the lack of water, my throat's just played hard to please... Oh well... :( Anyways. I really find it funny how I was planning to post something about the "evils" of drinking too much softdrinks (got it from a magazine article yesterday) then found this in my email today! Here it is... your choice... Water or softdrinks, anyone?

WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

C***

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of C*** in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of C*** and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of C*** into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in C*** removesstains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in C***.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of C*** over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in C*** to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of C*** into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil
, allowing the drippings to mix with the C*** for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of C*** into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and runthrough a regular cycle. The C*** will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1 the active ingredient in C*** is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry C*** syrup (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of C*** have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

or C***?

Just a thought for the evening...

If this day didn't end up the way you planned it, always remember "If God had wanted this day perfect, then He would not have needed to create a tomorrow."

Good evening and have a great weekend!!! 0=)
